2025 Guest Review Analysis

This report analyzes a new, direct source of guest feedback. As a byproduct of a broader back-office overhaul in May 2025, a new "guest review" module was enabled in our reservation system. I activated this feature to actively solicit direct feedback from our guests.

The data that follows represents all 44 reviews collected through this new system between May 28th and October 31st, 2025. It does not include reviews from other third-party channels like Google or Airbnb.

This chart shows the final average score for each of our seven categories. Our strongest-rated asset is our Location, with our staff's Friendliness and Service following closely behind. This data confirms that our unique setting and personal hospitality are what guests value most.

A Story of Successful Turnaround: Cleanliness (4.73 / 5)

While the 'Cleanliness' average is impacted by a few low outlier scores (including one 2/5 and one 3/5), this number represents a massive operational improvement. This season, feedback on cleanliness has been overwhelmingly positive, a stark contrast to the constant verbal complaints and cabin condition issues we faced last year.

This year's positive trend is best exemplified by one guest who, after three weeks of travel, left a hand-written note calling her cabin "by far the cleanest" she had stayed in and praising our staff's "extra touches."

Other Key Qualitative Highlights

Atmosphere Overcomes Imperfection

A powerful theme is that our guests' appreciation for the camp's unique, historic atmosphere far outweighs physical imperfections. One knowledgeable first-time guest, while noting the "mountain of restoration to do," still gave 5-star ratings, won over by the boathouse, fresh flowers, and "historical and unique" structures.

Deep Guest Loyalty & Personal Connection

Personal interactions are a major driver of this. One new guest, for example, took the time to specifically praise our staff for being 'friendly, professional, and accommodating.' This feedback is reflected in the high scores, with other loyal guests calling their stay the "best week of my year" and one writing that the camp "restores a person's soul."

Anomalous (and Amusing) Feedback

Finally, a few reviews are best viewed as statistical outliers. One guest provided a confusing 2/5 for Accommodation and Cleanliness while simultaneously writing "The property is magnificent." And, of course, we will disregard the anomalous 1-star 'Breakfast' rating from another guest—who, perhaps, mistook our rustic, self-catered charm for a full-service B&B.
